Meadow Sage Wellness
Isabel Palmer, LCPC
Hello! My name is Isabel and I’m a licensed therapist in Boise, Idaho. I provide individual therapy to adults and teens 14 and up, and I have special training in trauma-based approaches including EMDR and Somatic Experiencing.
I love watching my clients return to a sense of self, thereby improving their relationships with loved ones, accessing more joy in their lives, and feeling more at home in their bodies. Through a blend of approaches, including a body-based (somatic) approach, I help individuals manage nervous system dysregulation and find a sense of safety in their bodies, and heal attachment wounds through a warm, gentle, and supportive therapeutic relationship.
My services
Somatic Experiencing
-A body-based approach that aims to alleviate symptoms associated with traumatic or shocking events, which can remain stored in our bodies. This approach uses nervous system tracking, development of resources, and exercises such as mindfulness and movement to help clients increase a sense of wellbeing and safety and release stored trauma.
EMDR
-Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy approach designed to help individuals process traumatic memories and alleviate associated distress. By allowing clients to recall distressing events while simultaneously focusing on external stimuli (eye movements, tapping, or other methods), EMDR aims to reprocess these memories and reduce their emotional charge. With this approach, trauma can be healed without necessarily talking about or reliving the event.
Talk therapy
Talk therapy involves verbally exploring and discussing your presenting issue and can be combined with the above approaches. I use an eclectic theoretical framework that is attachment-focused and psychodynamic in nature. I also utilize mindfulness, behavioral, and experiential perspectives.
